If you are not satisfied for any reason with the custom product that we build for you, you can return the product for us to Inspect, Repair or Re-make to your satisfaction.
Our #1 priority is your happiness. Any and all manufacturing issues covered by our warranty will receive the highest priority. However, sometimes, even when the product exceeds the manufacturing standard we set, you just are not happy with the product, and it does not meet your expectation. If, for any reason this is the case, we welcome the opportunity to understand what about the product you are unhappy with, and we will work diligently to fulfill the Worry-Free Satisfaction Guarantee. For this reason, we offer a generous and outstanding returns program and gladly offer to rebuild your order (or build you something else) with the return of the product, in new condition, within 30 days of receiving it.. This 100% Worry-Free Satisfaction Guarantee is one of a kind in any industry for a custom product.
DoorPlace USA is a premier custom door builder and custom barn door hardware manufacturer. Our products are CUSTOM made from raw materials specifically for your order. We dedicate specific materials and labor to your order. You pay for that commitment when you order. Because of our unique business model, we have outlined our specific cancellation and return policies included here. We have also shared other important details about the order and shipping process. We want to ensure that your experience and product is everything you are expecting.
Online Orders
It is the consumer’s responsibility to understand what they are ordering when using the online system and to verify from the order confirmation that we have selected everything correctly when ordering over the phone. DoorPlace USA has provided many online photo resources and descriptions to help you during your order. Please read these descriptions carefully. If you are unsure about what your order will look like or what is included, please call or email us.
Phone Orders
It is our goal to understand what the customer's needs and expectations are as we talk over the phone. We will do our best to guide the customer's decision-making process to what will work best for the customer based on our understanding of the information given. However, at times there may be a lack of information or understanding that can create frustrations later when the customer's expectation is not met. Please note that it is the customer's responsibility, and not the manufacturer, to confirm that all sizes and measurements are accurate and that what is ordered is what is needed. Please review every detail of the order placed in the order confirmation. We will build your product to the order that is placed, and it is the customer's responsibility to review the confirmation of an order placed over the phone to verify it is correct.
Upon Delivery
Please inspect the product upon receipt. Please notify us of any damaged or missing items within 2 days of receiving the product. It is necessary to know immediately of any shipping damage for the shipping claims. Requests for missing items beyond 30 days of receipt will not be accepted.
Before Installation
Please inspect your product carefully before installation. DoorPlace USA is not responsible for any costs associated with installation or de-installation including but not limited to contractor or installer time, travel or transportation of the product for any reason including manufacturing issues.
Production & Shipping Lead Times
Since almost all our products are built specifically for each order and off many customized options the build time can best be estimated on each product page with the customized options already selected. Remember that since almost everything we make is from raw materials, and we set a high-quality standard these production times are estimated and are not a guarantee.
Important Shipping and Production Information
• Orders for only hardware, and other products that are under the shipping size limitation ship via a small pack. Carriers like FedEx or UPS have a maximum length of 8 fet. Tracks and headers over 8ft will be sent in equal pieces less than 8ft long.
• Assembled doors ship via an LTL freight carrier like Estes Express or Old Dominion Freight Lines.
• IMPORTANT SHIPPING INFORMATION
o Please do NOT destroy or dispose of the crate your door is shipped in until you are completely satisfied with your product. DoorPlace USA is not responsible to provide another shipping crate should you dispose or destroy the one we shipped your product in if the door needs to be returned.
o Freighted items include curbside delivery for items that are not oversized. Typically, oversized items are doors larger than 4 feet 6 inches wide or 7 feet tall. In some areas (dependent on the local freight carrier) you may be required to assist in removing the crate from the truck or pick up from the local hub.
o Oversized items may require pick up at the freight carrier hub or some arrangements to get the crate off the truck. The shipper is not responsible for additional costs associated with the delivery or pick up of oversized crates.
o Curbside delivery does NOT include transporting the crate onto your premise, up driveway or to your door.
o If you have a difficult to navigate street you may have to meet the truck and receive the shipment at the closest point to your curbside as possible.
o In some cases, an additional charge can be negotiated with the freight company to deliver the crate closer to the desired location, but DoorPlace USA is not responsible for this cost.
o Please do not schedule the installation for your product until it has arrived, and you are completely satisfied. DoorPlace USA is not responsible for any contractor’s installation or rescheduling fees.
o Please inspect your product carefully before installation. DoorPlace USA is not responsible for any costs associated with installation or de-installation including but not limited to contractor or installer time, travel, or transportation of the product for any reason including manufacturing issues.
o If there is a manufacturing responsibility error with your order, we can only arrange pickup from where the product was dropped off.
• Production times and expectations
o You can find estimated production times on each product page.
o Remember that since almost everything we make is from raw materials, and we set a high-quality standard these production times are estimated and are not a guarantee.
o There are no cash refunds for late orders.
• International Shipping
o We love to serve all our customers across the globe. Unfortunately, due to the variance of customs policies around the world we do not assume any responsibility of freight, duties, or taxes outside of the US. However, we do offer everyone our standard free shipping for barn doors, hardware, and mantels in the continental US. We strongly recommend that the buyer contact a freight forwarding company in the continental US to receive the product from us on your behalf. You can contact almost any international freight company for recommendations for your country. Please note that upon delivery to the freight forwarder ownership of the product transfers to the buyer. From that point on all freight, duties, taxes (import and export) and brokerage fees will be the buyer’s responsibility. We cannot be responsible for any international freight costs (or returns) so we recommend the product be inspected carefully by the freight forwarder upon receipt.
• Shipping Address
o Please provide a physical address to ship your order to be delivered to.
o If you need to change this address once the order has been placed, please contact us prior to your order shipping and we will gladly update your shipping address.
o If you contact us once your order has left our facility to request a different shipping address, we will do what we can to ensure this change is made but cannot guarantee delivery. There may be a "reroute fee" for this and it will increase the shipping time so please try and make sure that we have the correct shipping address prior to your order leaving our facility.
Warranty Information
• Please inspect your product carefully before installation. DoorPlace USA is not responsible for any costs associated with installation or de-installation including but not limited to contractor or installer time, travel, or transportation of the product for any reason including manufacturing issues.
• Please note that wood doors are susceptible to expanding and contracting due to temperature and moisture (rain and humidity) based on location, exposure to the elements and environment. The natural state of steel is vulnerable to oxidation with exposure to the moisture (rain and humidity). We provide a quality-built product, and we offer finishes with a warranty to protect the wood and metal. You, the customer, are responsible to understand the warranty, make sure that your application, location, and environment are conducive to wood and/or steel products. DoorPlace USA is not responsible for changes in the doors or finishes (warping, separating, splitting, expanding, contracting, rust or fading) due to these conditions.
• All interior doors and hardware are intended for interior use only and are not warrantied against exterior use. If you’re purchasing a door intended for exterior use, please make sure that you order a door that’s defined in the ordering process as “exterior”.
• Interior products come with a limited lifetime warranty that covers the functionality of our products.
o This warranty does not cover finishes, cosmetic discoloration, damage, improper installation, or normal wear. We will replace any part that fails to function properly with the return of the failed product. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customers.
• Exterior doors come with a limited lifetime warranty that covers the functionality of our products.
o Exterior doors need to be appropriately protected from excessive exposure to the elements, heat and moisture. This is most effectively done with a sufficient overhang or portico. Doors that are determined to not be sufficiently protected with an overhang and doors that are showing finish issues or changes due to the install location and environment are not covered under warranty.
o The 1-year warranty covers manufacturer's defects or failures of the door to functionally perform but does not cover damage or breakdown due to exposure to the elements. The warranty does not cover finishes, cosmetic discoloration, improper installation, or normal wear.
• All doors that are finished and assembled by DoorPlace USA come with a 30-day warranty against warping, separating, or splitting.
o Warping is defined as doors that are out of alignment of more than 1/4″ over an 8’ length.
• Please note the following additional warranty details that
o Unfinished and primer white doors, kit doors & headers do not have a warranty against warping, separating, or splitting. These doors are shipped at your request literally “not finished” or completed. We cannot be responsible for how an unfinished (not completed) door responds to the environmental conditions to which it is exposed. Additionally, since we did not finish the door, we cannot be responsible for the way it is protected.
• Recommendations for unfinished doors:
o Please finish/seal your unfinished doors immediately. Changes in climate, temperature and humidity can cause doors that are not finished to warp, separate, or split.
o It is strongly advised that customers finish/seal all 6 sides of an unfinished door within 5 days of receiving the door to reduce the likelihood of an issue.
o Incorrect finishing of a door can also cause warping, separating, or splitting, which is why we highly encourage our customers to allow us to finish and ship their door finished.
o Regardless how quickly it is finished, if the door ships from DoorPlace USA unfinished there is no warranty protection for warping, separating, or splitting.
• Due to the nature of product updates and revisions, including finishes and textures, if a product is replaced under warranty, it may be necessary to replace it with similar or comparable product if the exact option is no longer available.
Damaged Orders and Missing Items
• It is necessary to open and inspect shipments upon arrival.
• Any damage from shipping, including concealed damage, must be reported to DoorPlace USA with pictures via email to support@doorplaceusa.com within 2 business days of receiving your product for a shipping claim to be processed.
• Please notify us of missing items within the first 2 business days of receiving your product. When a product sits for a long time before being installed it is difficult to know if a particular item was not shipped or went missing afterwards. We want to be helpful to get you all the parts you need but cannot be responsible for items gone missing after delivery. Requests for missing items more than 30 days after the product has been delivered will not be accepted.
• Please inspect your product carefully before installation. DoorPlace USA is not responsible for any costs associated with installation or de-installation including but not limited to contractor or installer time, travel, or transportation of the product for any reason including manufacturing issues.
Order Changes, Cancellations, Returns & Refunds
• Order changes and cancellations must be done over the phone by the person who placed the order.
• All changes made to an order after the next full business day will incur a 50% change fee.
o Please understand that these custom-made products begin work the day following order placement. Any change made costs additional raw material and labor.
• Refund cancellations are only accepted on the next business day after your order is placed.
o After a full business day, cancelled orders will be 50% credited against future DoorPlace USA orders. Those funds go to your DoorPlace USA Gift Card Account and can be used for DoorPlace USA products on www.doorplaceusa.com.
• Same Day and Quick Ship Products do not have a next business day grace period for changes or cancellations. We begin those products immediately and any changes after placing the order will impact the delivery timely and incur the change or cancellation 50% charge.
Return Policy
• Please do NOT destroy or dispose of the crate your door is shipped in until you are completely satisfied with your product.
• DoorPlace USA is not responsible to provide another shipping crate should you dispose or destroy the one we shipped your product regardless of the reason the door needs to be returned.
• Should you choose we can send you a crate for $500.
• Return shipping and/or Freight costs are the responsibility of the customer.
• Returns are 100% credited to your DoorPlace USA Gift Card account for future use on DoorPlace USA products.
• Customer designed custom projects are not eligible for returns or cancellations.
• Installed products are not eligible for this return policy.
Trade Partner Agreement
DoorPlace USA provides discounted pricing to Trade Partners under the following terms, conditions and program guidelines. The DoorPlace USA website should serve as the source for all information about DoorPlace USA products including but not limited to, images, styles, options, selections, build times and policies.
Trade Partners are not allowed to use any DoorPlace USA images or other information on any other websites without express written permission
Trade Partners are not allowed to sell DoorPlace USA products on their own web page or advertise specific DoorPlace USA products on the internet
All refunds and credit for Trade Partners are processed as DoorPlace USA Rewards credits to be used for future purposes.
The up to 20% discounted pricing is applicable only to orders placed through the Trade Partners login in the DoorPlace USA website.
Returned Checks
• Any check returned due to non-sufficient funds will be subject to a minimum charge of $30.00.
• Returns are not accepted and no refunds or credit will be applied to your DoorPlace USA Cash account for Special Custom Projects and Special-Order items (items not available on the website).

Public Information; Forum, Guestbook, Directories
By their very nature the Forum, Guestbook, Listing Directories, etc. are open to the public; any information given will be viewable to the general public. DoorPlace USA does make every effort to keep details such as email addresses private, but if you do select to have your email address shown it may be viewable by the general public.
Children’s Privacy
DoorPlace USA is committed to keeping the details of children private by following the guidelines set out in the US, C.O.P.P.A Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
DoorPlace USA does not collect private information from children under the age of 13 without written permission from the child’s parents or guardians.

These terms and conditions together with any documents expressly referred to in them, contain the entire Agreement between us relating to the subject matter covered and supersede any previous Agreements, arrangements, undertakings or proposals, written or oral: between us in relation to such matters. No oral explanation or oral information given by any party shall alter the interpretation of these terms and conditions. In agreeing to these terms and conditions, you have not relied on any representation other than those expressly stated in these terms and conditions and you agree that you shall have no remedy in respect of any misrepresentation which has not been made expressly in this Agreement. DoorPlace USA reserves the right to add, delete, or modify any provision of this Agreement at any time without notice.
