Warranty & Care
One-Year Limited Warranty on Doors & Porch Swings
At Doorplace USA, every door and porch swing is built by hand and inspected before it leaves our shop. This page explains our 1-Year Limited Warranty and provides the essential care instructions required to maintain the structural integrity and beauty of your product.
One-Year Limited Warranty
Doorplace USA provides a 1-Year Limited Warranty on eligible doors and porch swings that are finished and assembled by Doorplace USA and installed in a suitable location.
This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship that affect the normal structural performance of the product for one (1) year from the date of delivery.
What’s Covered
- Doors: Significant structural defects such as excessive warping (exceeding 1/4" over 8 ft), severe splitting, or joint separation that prevents normal operation.
- Porch Swings: Structural defects in the frame affecting safety or use under normal weight limits.
- Hardware: Track rollers, hinges, and latches that fail under normal residential use.
What’s Not Covered
Because wood and metal are natural materials, the following are excluded from warranty coverage:
- Normal wear and tear, minor dings, scratches, or natural color variations in wood grain.
- Changes caused by improper installation, building movement, or an out-of-square wall or frame.
- Products installed in locations with extreme moisture, direct water exposure, or full weather exposure without proper overhang or protection.
- Products that have been altered, cut, trimmed, or re-finished after delivery by others.
- Unfinished or primed-only products that were not sealed on all six sides immediately upon delivery.
- Hairline surface checking or small seasonal movement typical of real wood.
SlideDrive™ Automatic System Warranty
The SlideDrive™ system is a custom-engineered motorized unit designed to replace the traditional floor guide and automate your barn door. This system is designed for indoor use unless otherwise specified.
Please Note: SlideDrive™ systems are custom-built to order and are not eligible for returns, refunds, or exchanges. In the rare event that a unit cannot be repaired or brought to proper working condition under warranty, Doorplace USA may, at its discretion, approve a return or replacement.
Warranty Coverage Levels:
- 1-Year Limited Warranty: Covers the full system, including control boards, electrical components, and internal mechanical parts.
- 5-Year Extended Motor Warranty: Covers the motor against manufacturer defects only. This does not include normal wear, improper installation, or external damage.
SlideDrive™ Exclusions
- Improper installation or misalignment of the door system.
- Use with doors outside recommended size, weight, or configuration.
- Damage caused by incorrect wiring or power supply.
- Outdoor use or exposure to moisture unless specifically rated.
- Normal wear on drive wheels or friction components.
Your Responsibilities
- Inspect on Delivery: You must report any shipping damage within 2 business days so we can assist with a freight claim.
- Check Before Installation: Verify sizes, swing direction, and general condition. We are not responsible for installer labor or trip charges.
- Use Proper Installation: Doors and swings must be mounted into appropriate structure using hardware rated for the application.
Care Instructions – Wood Doors & Porch Swings
Interior & Covered Outdoor Use
- Dust with a soft cloth and clean with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid direct water contact.
- For swings, plan to re-coat the clear outdoor finish every 1–2 years depending on sun exposure.
- Avoid standing water or long-term contact with wet cushions.
Unfinished Products
- Unfinished items must be sealed on all six sides as soon as possible after delivery.
- Because Doorplace USA did not complete the finishing, unfinished products are not covered against warping or splitting.
Hardware & Hanging Care
- Periodically tighten visible screws and fasteners.
- Inspect hanging chains or ropes every few months and replace anything showing rust or wear.
- A small amount of dry lubricant on rollers or hinges will maintain smooth operation.
